National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report

This report  from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) assesses the performance of our healthcare system and identifies areas of strengths and weaknesses, as well as disparities, for access to healthcare and quality of healthcare. Quality is described in terms of six priorities: patient safety, person-centered care, care coordination, effective treatment, healthy living, and care affordability. The report is based on more than 250 measures of quality and disparities covering a broad array of healthcare services and settings.

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Data Resource Center

This site provides a wide range of data resources in online, searchable databases pertaining to quality, costs and utilization of health services. Includes Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (Nation’s most comprehensive source of hospital data) plus the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (Set of surveys of families and individuals, medical providers, and employers nationwide).

State-by-State Quality Snapshots

This site from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality provides state-specific health care quality information, including strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Includes over 250 quality measures with the ability to compare a state’s health quality standing with all other states plus identifies high performing states to encourage best practice sharing.
